With the implementation of The planning To Promote the rise of the Central China and the issue of The planning of Developing Yangtze River Economic Belt, related departments is actively enacting the protection of water resources and prevention of water pollution, in order to improve the water environment and promote the sustainable development. Thus, the protection of drinking water has been strengthened, and the quality of water remains stable. But with the growing path of new industrialization, urbanization and agricultural modernization, some areas suffer from the increasing problem in the environment of drinking water. It is very significant to strengthen the protection of drinking water source, ensure drinking water security and defend the rights and interests of the people’s health.
During the time of the 13th Five-Year Plan, central urban area in Wuhan has enacted an effective integration of urban and rural water supply factories, reaching the optimal operation and effective utilization of water resources. New urban area breaks the boundaries of regional water supply, adjusts the current water supply pattern, optimizes the system arrangement and strengthens the support capacity of centralized water supply plants, gradually improving the urban water supply facilities, expanding the scope of centralized water supply, and forming a multi-source, safe and reliable water supply system. By upgrading the water supply facilities and improving the water quality, Wuhan can provide safer, better and more efficient water supply services for the citizens. What’s more, Wuhan is keeping its path in exploring ways to build direct drinking water projects and carrying out pilot projects in public places.
To further transform and upgrade the waterworks and water supply system in China, WAWS 2019 will be held on November 28-30, 2019 in Wuhan International Expo Center, China.
